Kody & Dahrea Karr, Karr Family Farm

Kody and Dahrea Karr farm near Monroe City, Missouri, where they began row-cropping in 2021. They are raising children, sheep, cattle and row crops on nearly 600 acres. They practice no-till, and incorporate summer annual cover crops behind wheat to help during drought conditions and provide green forage for their livestock in the summer slump.

The Karrs have also found that cover crops and grazing help break persistent pest cycles and restore diversity and fertility back into corn and soybean acres. Elsewhere on the farm, Kody and Dahrea are converting crop ground back to native grassland to have pasture species better adapted to local weather cycles. Come see these practices in action and learn how the Karrs are hoping to build resilience through an integrated crop and livestock farm.
